Twenty UNO-R grade six pupils joined the more than 2,000 children who attended Philippine Daily Inquirer 25 Read-Alongs held simultaneously in different venues nationwide.
Christmas 2010 means “Diffusing Augustinian Love to Those Who Have Less” for UNO-Recoletos.
The UNO-Rians will share Christmas goodies with fisher folks, urban poor and relocation settlers, children garbage scavengers, sidewalk and ambulant vendors, prisoners in the jail, individuals with special needs, elderly, sick people, individuals in the janitorial services, security guards, and maintenance and casual workers.
The religious community of UNO-Recoletos headed by Rev. Fr. Emeterio Buñao,OAR commemorated the OAR Foundation day, which traces back to 1588.
The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Fray Luis de Leon Library held the Awarding of the Top Borrowers and IMC Users 2009-2010 and the launching of the Library Web page last tuesday, December 1, 2010 at the 2nd floor Fray Luis Library with the theme “Global Interaction for linkages through books and Information Communication Technology “or “Pangdaigdigang Pakikipag-ugnayan sa Pamamagitan ng Aklat,Komyunikasyon at Teknolohiya”. This is in line with the 76th National Book Week celebration from November 22-27, 2010.

The Blue and Gold Alumni Association Incorporated, the official Alumni Association of Occidental Negros Institute (ONI), University of Negros Occidental(UNO) and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) held its 64th Annual General Alumni Homecoming last September 25 at 7 am at the UNO-R Gym. It commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Dionisio Cachero,OAR, UNO-R President. Motorcade along the major thoroughfares of the City preceded the alumni homecoming. Atty. Mateo Valenzuela, BGAAI President gave the Opening Remarks while Rev. Fr. President gave the Inspirational Message.
Ms. Janna Mary Lagare, a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education and TOSP –Region VI awardee, made it to the top 30 Students of the Philippines. Chosen from among the many student leaders from all corners of the country, Janna came out as one of the thirty top students in the country.
