UNO-R partners with Chulalongkorn University
Heeding the call for advancement of research and internationalization initiatives, the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos has established a research-anchored memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chulalongkorn University, Apr. 18.
The MOU primarily covers research collaboration, particularly one on crude palm oil, with the potential to expand into student and faculty exchange programs later on. “We hope that the information that we will learn from this project will be beneficial for both the Philippines and also Thailand,” Prof. Pramoch Rangsunvigit, PhD, dean of the Petroleum and Petrochemical College of Chulalongkorn University said.
University President Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, also expressed gratitude as he said, “This partnership not only strengthens our position in the global stage, but also reaffirms our dedication to serving humanity through the pursuit of truth and excellence in education and research.
For this, we are truly grateful to Chulalongkorn University.” The MOU signing involved a discussion on the next steps of the project to be engaged in the next few months, which will involve the Chemical Engineering program under the College of Engineering and various departments under the College of Business & Accountancy.
The UNO-R delegation involved Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, university president, Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, Jr., OAR, vice president for Academics & Research, Rev. Fr. Leo Alaras, OAR, vice president for Identity, Formation, and Mission, and Internationalization Director, Engr. Ashraf Khater, director of Research and Development, and Dr. Agnes Sequiño, Director of the Internationalization Office.
The Chulalongkorn University delegation involved Prof. Pramoch Rangsunvigit, PhD, dean of the Petroleum and Petrochemical College, Assoc. Prof. Thanyalak Chaisuwan, associate dean, Assoc. Prof. Siriporn Jongpatiwut, project leader, Dr. Natthapong Sueviriyapan, project team member, and Dr. Krittiya Pornmai, Project team member.
