The English and Mass Communication Department of the College of the Arts and Sciences, in cooperation with the ARTAPP (Art Appreciation) Class Section K22 of the College of Information Technology, sponsored “A Christmas Tree Design Contest” on December 10, 2008 at the College of Business and Accountancy Building. The contest aimed to develop the students’ artistic ability and imagination and for them to feel the “spirit of Christmas” through this meaningful activity. Four groups of students from ARTAPP section K22 participated in this project.
The University joined two other institutions of higher learning, VMA Global College and LCC-Bacolod, in the presentation of the results of the CHED-funded research entitled “Establishing Baseline Data on Mangrove Development in Brgy. Punta Taytay: Basis for a Livelihood Program” held last December 5, 2008 at the VMA Global College in Sum-ag, Bacolod City.
The University officially inaugurated the Green Heart Hermitage after a solemn blessing and simple ceremony last November 29 at the Agriculture Area. Supervised by Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem, OAR, Property Administrator, the Hermitage was built to become the center of the University’s ecological initiatives and commitment. This is also where activities related to organic farming, recycling, free-range poultry, and interactive-training will be held.
