UCDO Spearheads a Forum on BioFuel

           The University Community Development Office in coordination with Broad Initiative for Negros Development (BIND), Southeast Asia Regional Initiative for Community Empowerment (SEARICE), and Third World Network (TWN), spearheaded a Forum on Biofuel on October 21, 2008 at Fr. Cuenca Hall. Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR, Director of Scholarships, gave the opening and welcome remarks.

Marian Eusoya: Banwahanon Awardee

      Mrs. Marian Eusoya, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Head of the Medical Technology Department, is one of the three recipients of the Banwahanon Awards given by the City Government of Bacolod in recognition of Bacolodnons who have exceptional abilities and exemplary contributions to the society.

Launching of READS Website

The Scholarships Office, together with Fr. Sixto Bitangjol, OAR, University President, launched the READS (Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students) Website on October 14 at the UNO-R Main Lobby.

READS to Hold Sportsfest

      The Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students (READS) scholars will be holding its Annual Sportsfest on October 13 to 19.  The Opening Ceremonies will be held on October 13 at 5:30 PM at the Amphitheater.  After the opening formalities to be graced by University President, Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, and Director of Scholarships, Fr. Emeterio D. Buñao, OAR, a Cheer Dance Contest will follow to be participated by four teams with around 20-25 members.

Girls Chess Team NOPSSCEA Champion

       Four UNO-R graders in the Girls’ Division were declared champion by NOPSSCEA in the chess competition held at West Negros College on September 20, 21 and 28.  After facing five rounds, they got four wins and one draw and brought home a trophy as champions.
