The Elementary Department held the Living Rosary and Angels’ Day last Friday, October 3, at the University gym. This activity aimed to instill in the minds and hearts of the pupils the love for Mother Mary and the awareness of the existence of the guardian angels that are sent by heaven to guide God’s most beautiful creation – the man.
Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, University President, shall join the officers and board of directors of Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) Negros Occidental-Bacolod Chapter during the 32nd Induction Ceremonies of the PMHA Board of Management for 2008-2010 on Thursday, October 9, at the Garden Pavillon Hall of Planta Hotel and Residences, Bacolod City.
A planning session was held on October 6 at the President’s Office Conference Room in line with the upcoming Recoletos Friendship Games scheduled November 29 to 30. The meeting that was convoked and presided by University President, Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, was attended by Fr. Edwin Macmac, OAR (SSC-R, Manila), Fr. University President, Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, attended the 1st Regional Conference of the University and College Presidents all over Western Visayas with new CHED Chairman Emmanuel Y. Angeles last October 4 held at the Language Center of the Western Visayas State University, Iloilo City.
Engr. Christopher Taclobos, Dean of the College of Engineering, was elected President of the Council of Engineering and Architecture Schools of Western Visayas (CEAS-WV), Inc. during the 3rd quarter meeting of the Council held last September 26 at Central Philippine University, Iloilo City. As President, Engr. Taclobos will serve for two terms: SY 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.
Prior of the UNO-R Community and Director of Scholarships, Fr. Emeterio D. Buñao, OAR celebrated his 41st Sacerdotal Anniversary last September 24. In his simple way, he shared God’s blessings with some members of the community as well as with members of the Secular Augustinian Recollects Fraternity of UNO-R. In the afternoon, he spent time with his staff and beneficiaries of Recollect Social Outreach Center (RESOURCE) in Barangay Handumanan.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Negros Occidental –Recoletos and the UNO High School class 1958 during the Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Blue and Gold Alumni Association, Inc. last September 27, 2008 at the Uno-R Gym. Rev. Fr. Sixto Bitangjol, OAR represented UNO-R while class ’58 was represented by its class president Ms. Teresita Padilla Limgenco. The signing was witnessed by Atty. Mateo Valenzuela, BGAAI President, Emma Libo-on Kowalski and Dr. Vilma Azucena.
