A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Negros Occidental –Recoletos and the UNO High School class 1958 during the Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Blue and Gold Alumni Association, Inc. last September 27, 2008 at the Uno-R Gym. Rev. Fr. Sixto Bitangjol, OAR represented UNO-R while class ’58 was represented by its class president Ms. Teresita Padilla Limgenco. The signing was witnessed by Atty. Mateo Valenzuela, BGAAI President, Emma Libo-on Kowalski and Dr. Vilma Azucena.
High School class ’58 in the occasion of their Golden jubilee wants to leave a legacy to UNO-Recoletos High School faculty in appreciation of the excellent high school education that class ’58 received under then Atty. Arturo Salillas as UNO Principal from 1954 -58.
The MOU is about the creation of a faculty lounge which class 58 will provide he furniture and appliances and the installation cost of a broadband internet system. UNO-R, on the other hand has already provided the space and with the signing of the MOU, it is expected the faculty lounge shall already be operational after 4 months. Further, the faculty lounge shall be called as the Atty. Arturo C. Salillas Faculty Lounge.
