The Scholarships Office, together with Fr. Sixto Bitangjol, OAR, University President, launched the READS (Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students) Website on October 14 at the UNO-R Main Lobby.
The ribbon cutting was officiated by Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, Fr. Excel Saycon, OAR, Director of Religious Education Department, and Bro. Jaazeal D. Jakosalem,OAR, Property Administrator.

The website is created for every READS and OAR (Order of the Augustinian Recollect) Scholar to observe a faster way of communication. It is also created for the READS and OAR alumni to gain an easy access in the University as well as for them to learn about the latest happenings in the University.
Fr. Bitangjol, who is also one of the advocates of the website, in his message, said that in our society today, we must know how to use the technologies that surround us for our benefit.
He also told the READS scholars that the website is a venue for the READS and OAR scholars to share their talents in writing. He further stressed that, “Ang READS indi lang pang opisina, pang website pa.”
Ms. Dana Grace Banilla, READS President, gave her welcome remarks and acknowledged the efforts of Brian Buenconsejo, and Vincent Pagran (both READS) and Mr. Alvin Mananquil (READS Alumnus) for their hard work and contribution in creating the website, the UNO – Recoletos Administration for their all out support, and the staff of Scholarships Office for their encouragement in pursuing the website.
Ms. Catherine Sebastian, staff of the Scholarships Office, in her closing remarks told every scholar that “we are just a click away from each other.” She also invited everyone to visit the website at www.uno-r.edu.ph/reads.
