UNO-R to Share Christmas Joy with Poor

Christmas 2010 means “Diffusing Augustinian Love to Those Who Have Less” for UNO-Recoletos.

The UNO-Rians  will share Christmas goodies with fisher folks, urban poor and relocation settlers, children garbage scavengers, sidewalk and ambulant vendors, prisoners in the jail, individuals with special needs, elderly, sick people, individuals in the janitorial services, security guards, and maintenance and casual workers.

UNO-R Celebrates National Book Week

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Fray Luis de Leon Library held the Awarding of the Top Borrowers and IMC Users 2009-2010 and the launching of the Library Web page last tuesday, December 1, 2010 at the 2nd floor Fray Luis Library with the theme “Global Interaction for linkages through books and Information Communication Technology “or “Pangdaigdigang Pakikipag-ugnayan sa Pamamagitan ng Aklat,Komyunikasyon at Teknolohiya”. This is in line with the 76th National Book Week celebration from November 22-27, 2010.

BGAAI Honors 7 UNO-R Alumni

The Blue and Gold Alumni Association Incorporated, the official Alumni Association of Occidental Negros Institute (ONI), University of Negros Occidental(UNO) and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) held its 64th Annual General Alumni Homecoming last September 25 at 7 am at the UNO-R Gym.  It commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Dionisio Cachero,OAR, UNO-R President.  Motorcade along the major thoroughfares of the City preceded the alumni homecoming. Atty. Mateo Valenzuela, BGAAI President gave the Opening Remarks while Rev. Fr. President gave the Inspirational Message.

UNO-Rian Makes it to the TOSP Finals

 

Ms. Janna Mary Lagare, a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education and TOSP –Region VI awardee,  made it to the top 30 Students of the Philippines. Chosen from among the many student leaders from all corners of the country, Janna came out as one of the thirty top students in the country.

CCJE Holds Symposium

   The UNO-Recoletos College of Criminal Justice Education Department held a symposium on   “Current Issues Affecting R.A. 8551 as amended by R.A. 9708, Comparative Police System and Ethical Standards affecting Police Performance”.  The speaker was Atty. Ifor I. Magbanua, Ph.D., CEO VI, Acting Inspector General, Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police. The symposium was held at the President’s Hall of UNO-R and was participated by delegations from Bago City College, NONESCOST – Murcia and Sagay; La Carlota City College and West Negros University.
