PTA sponsors “Spelling Bee”

The Parents and Teachers Association of the Elementary Department sponsored the “Spelling Bee” (Final Round) last February 21, 2009 at the Fountain Area of Robinson’s Place, Bacolod City.  The PTA Spelling Bee aims to give the opportunity for linguistically gifted pupils from Grades IV, V, and VI to display their verbal skills before a different crowd.

Eight Graders win Journalism Contest

Eight elementary pupils won in the Division Schools Press Conference Journalism Contest held last November 3-4 at Apolinario  Mabini Elementary School, Bacolod City.

This activity aimed to expose pupils to academic competitions while enhancing their skills in writing at the same time.  The contest was participated by 44 schools with more than 900 contestants in different categories. 

 

Girls Chess Team NOPSSCEA Champion

       Four UNO-R graders in the Girls’ Division were declared champion by NOPSSCEA in the chess competition held at West Negros College on September 20, 21 and 28.  After facing five rounds, they got four wins and one draw and brought home a trophy as champions.

Angels

 

The Elementary Department held the Living Rosary and Angels’ Day last Friday, October 3, at the University gym.  This activity aimed to instill in the minds and hearts of the pupils the love for Mother Mary and the awareness of the existence of the guardian angels that are sent by heaven to guide God’s most beautiful creation – the man.

Fr. President to be Inducted To PMHA Board

Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, University President, shall join the officers and board of directors of Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) Negros Occidental-Bacolod Chapter during the 32nd Induction Ceremonies of the PMHA Board of Management for 2008-2010 on Thursday, October 9, at the Garden Pavillon Hall of Planta Hotel and Residences, Bacolod City.
