UNO-R Outstanding Alumni

The Occidental Negros Institute (ONI), University of Negros Occidental (UNO) and UNO-Recoletos Blue and Gold Alumni Association, Inc (BGAAI) will confer the Distinguished Alumni and  the Outstanding Alumni Awards to 9 alumni of the school on September 26,2009 at the UNO-R Gymnasium during the 63rd General Alumni Homecoming of UNO-Recoletos.

Those who will be awarded with the title of Distinguished alumni in their respective fields are: Dr. Renante Decena (Veterinary Medicine); Casiano Ibrado III (Agriculture); Atty. Augustus Cezar Rallos (Law);Atty. Jesse Suarez (Government Service); and Sr. Gerolinda Tingson,OSA (Religious Adminsitration).

Meanwhile, recipients of the Outstanding Alumni Awards are Atty. Andrea Si for Women’s Advocacy; Atty. Jocelle Batapa- Sigue (Public Service); Waldo Flores (Public Service) ; Jesus Zarandin (Economics).

All alumni of ONI,UNO and UNO-Recoletos  are invited to attend the General Alumni Homecoming  on September 26,2009 at the UNO-R Gymnasium. It will start with a 7:30 Mass at the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino to be followed by a Motorcade around the city.

Seven pairs vying for Mr. and Ms. UNO-R 2009 title were presented to the public during the competition’s launching, the U-Week 2009 Recoletos Star Quest, on the night of Sept 8 at the UNO-R  Amphitheater.

Leading by one point, the College of Education (COE) of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos toppled the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and became the overall champion of the U-Week 2009 Literary Musical Contests on Sept 8 and 10.

The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos held a Battle of the Band sponsored by the Tau Omega Mu Fraternity and it’s Ladies Circle together with the UNO-R supreme student government last September 12 at the UNO-R amphi theatre.

Dr. Juanita C. Magan: the New Dean of CAS Has a 5-Point Priority Plan

Her expertise are MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION.

Dr. Juanita C. Magan, the new dean of the College of Arts and Science (CAS), other than her Master of Arts degree in Social Sciences, has a Master of Arts degree in Education, major in Educational Management and Supervision.  She has also a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Management.  And, another is still coming – the Doctor of Public Administration degree.
