The Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association or NOPSSCEA names UNO-R Bacolod Medical Technology Department Head Marian M. Eusoya as 2008 Tertiary Level Most Outstanding Teacher.
Eusoya bested nominees from other schools in the screening, interview and documentation including teaching performance rating, training/conferences attended professional leadership, community service, scholarly works, awards/recognitions received, curricular and co-curricular activities.
Joan Grace Jaranilla Trasmonte placed 10th in the December 2007 Dentistry Board Examination. Joan is a graduate of UNO-Recoletos from pre-school to her college.
The College of Engineering of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and Bagley College of Engineering of Mississippi State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote academic cooperation in the fields of engineering, science and technology. Both universities agreed to enhance advancement of learning through exchange of students, faculty members and researchers, collaborative researches, joint symposia and lectures.

University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos High School Girls Football Team finished Second Runner Up in the Provincial Finals of the First NOFA Grassroots Football Festival held at the Manuel Y. Torres Sports Center in Bago City last December 22, 2007.
The Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School (RBGS) held its Graduate School day last December 15, 2007. It started with the holy Sacrifice of the Mass at the Oratory. The students had their motorcade around the city and ended with the program at the auditorium. Parlor games and program presentations were enjoyed by the students of the RBGS.

Eight high school students of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos will advance to the regionals on December 10-11 in Iloilo City after reaping numerous literary awards in the 2007 Division Schools Press Conference held last September.
The Fr. Mauricio Ferrero Hall of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos was blessed and inaugurated last December 5, 2007. The rites started with an opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Raul Buhay, OAR , UNO-R Vice President –Academics. Welcome remarks was given by Rev. Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR, UNO-R Director of Scholarships and Mr. Modesto Sa-onoy, Negros Occidental historian, gave a background on Padre Mauricio Ferrero, OAR.
