UNO-R Engages in Sustainability Dialogues during the SDGN Philippines Roadshow

The university engaged in sustainability dialogues of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Philippines on October 24, 2025, at Samโ€™s 21 Hotel, Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, brought together leaders from education, government, civil society, and development organizations during the Western Visayas Roadshow, an event designed to localize and accelerate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region. The gathering emphasized the importance of collaboration, knowledge partnerships, and community-based action in advancing sustainable development.

The roadshow emphasized the role of science, governance, and education in addressing climate change, inequality, and sustainable growth in Western Visayas.

The University of Negros Occidentalโ€“Recoletos, Incorporated (UNO-R) was an active participant in the regional SDGs forum. The university delegation was composed of the Director of the Research and Development Office, Dr. Marisa Petalla; the Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Dexter Paul Dioso; the Director of the Quality Assurance Office, Dr. Melona Guitche; and the OIC-Director of the University Community Development Office, Mr. Alvin Ramoran.

UNO-Rโ€™s representation underscored its strong institutional commitment to integrating sustainability into education, research, student life, and community engagement. The delegates contributed key insights in various sessions, aligning their participation with the universityโ€™s mission of responsible stewardship and transformational service.
