The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos Incorporated’s milestone extended in the global stage when the participation of Rev. Fr. Leo Alaras, OAR, Vice President for Identity, Formation and Mission became the Plenary Speaker during the World Youth Leadership Conference, at Trang Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, February 10-11, 2025.
His talk resonated with the commitment of the founders, Ms. Parshu Aryal and Mr. Khagendra Acharya, the brilliant couple from Nepal, who run this organization based in the United States with offices all over the world, in empowering young leaders to address pressing global challenges and drive transformative change. With his experience and passion for music, Father Alaras captivated his audience from various parts of the globe as he expounded his topic on “Finding your VOICE: Your Path to Leadership.”
Ms. Andjanna Tahmikka Biaquis, a graduate of Foreign Affairs at Silliman University, and currently the Internationalization Staff/Coordinator was also present as an institutional participant. With her dynamism, she too, has actively shared her experience and has already built connections among other participants.
Ms. Jenni Montero, UNO-R Incorporated’s external consultant, held on to the principle uttered by Mahatma Gandhi describing how we shape our future – “The future depends on what we do today.” This perfectly captured the spirit of UNO-R leadership, of taking decisive steps to bring Augustinian mission to the heart of every global citizen through the love of knowledge in designing a brighter and more interconnected future for us to shape, one meaningful action at a time.
