NOPSSCEA 2007: Four Successful Blows for Young UNO-Rian Kickers

Five hardworking days, four successful blows, as UNO-R Elementary football varsity team kicked off to third place in the over-all NOPSSCEA Football cup. These hardworking kickers blanked and were also blanked, had a tie, and shaded their opponent with a point away.

First kicked off, Sept. 26 when the UNO-R kickers faced the determined La Sallean Stingers in the football field of Wets Negros College. The game was on! La Sallean goaled first, but was then equalized by UNO-Rian Kickers. The crowd was getting noisier. Cheers and shouts were everywhere when the score was just a point away. At last, player #14, Luis Christian Clauor goaled the second time which gave UNO-R a HURRAY! For a tie!

At the same football field, Sept. 27, UNO-R kickers faced their new challenge with determined Keepers of St. Scholastica. The Kickers and the Keepers were both determined to goal, and fortunately UNO-Rian kickers blanked St. Scholastica Keepers with three points ahead. With Captain ball, Luis Christian Clauor leading and #23 Sherwin Orocio scored a very nice score 4-0.

At La Salle football field, Sept. 28, a lucky day for both Elementary football varsity teams, UNO-R Kickers and WNC Mustang. UNO-R player #23 goaled first but was then equalized by WNC player. Clauor in #14 managed to goal but then was equalized again by WNC which made the final score a tie, 2-2.

A very unfortunate and unexpected match, UNO-R Kickers versus Mighty Booters of Don Bosco in the football field of West Negros College. 30th  of Sept. with a final score 0-7. UNO-Rian goalie, Cyrel Ledesma, player #2, tried to stop 15 goals but 7 were won by the opponent.

After that very unfortunate day, UNO-R Kickers didn’t lose hope on October 1 in the WNC football field. UNO-R faced the LCC Booters. The spectators thought it would be a tie but a goal was made by Sherwin Orocio, UNO-R player #23.
