Campus Journalists of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos High School Department who attended the Seminar – Workshop on Basic Journalism by the Philippine Information Agency last September 2 – 4 at Grand Regal Hotel were recognized as most promising in the different writing events.
Jenno Pellejo claimed six awards for Most Promising in Sports Writing in Filipino, Most Promising in Human Interest Photojournalism, Promising in News Writing in English, Promising in Column Writing in English and Promising in Copy Reading, while fellow Senior student Ashraf Khater took four awards for Most Promising in Column Writing in English, Most Promising in Feature Writing in English, Promising in Sports Writing in English and Promising in Essay Writing in English.
Junior student Kristel Kaye Dequillo was acknowledged Most Promising in Feature, Writing in English, Promising In Column Writing in English, Promising in Sports Writing and Promising in Essay Writing, while fellow Junior Shayne Exito was awarded Promising in Editorial Writing in English, Feature Writing in English and Sports Writing in English.
The delegation was also recognized Most Promising in Page Lay Out and Promising in Page Design.
