Delegates from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos met with the top administrators of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, to discuss possible collaboration in the areas of research and academics, April 19.
The discussion involved collaboration in the areas of Engineering and Business which includes student and faculty exchange.
Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, AIT President, said how the collaboration is an essential nature in the growth of
academic institutions, emphasizing that “Exposure to the reality, exposure to the different environment and different cultures; this is very much important. That’s why, in this kind of
international institute, we promote this kind of collaboration.”
Engr. Ashraf Khater presented quick facts about the University, including accreditation and certification areas as well as the current intention to move forward with the endeavor of internationalization.
Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, Jr., OAR, vice president for Academics and Research also shared a brief history of the Augustinian Recollects.
