UNORIAN BAGS 2,000USD AYVP 2015 PROJECT GRANT

ASEAN Youth Eco-Leader, Social Media Ambassador of the Philippines and an Alumna of the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Program-CAMBODIA 2015, and a BSED English 3 student of the University, was recently awarded the 2,000USD Project Grant by the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Program and USAID. As a multiplier effect of the recent program in Cambodia last August 2015, AYVP held a project proposal competition that this year’s alumni participated in. Project Pitches from all over the 10 ASEAN countries competed against each other for the much coveted project grant worth 2,000USD. PROJECT BINHIroes, the pitch by Gonzales, ranked high among the others and successfully scored a slot as one of the grant winners. PROJECT BINHIroes is an initiative that aims to develop youth volunteerism, environmental concern and awareness, leadership, awareness-raising, and ASEAN identity, through education and youth talks. Gonzales aims to hold the program by mid – February 2016, in partnership with the local government unit of Bacolod City, the Energy Development Corporation and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
