AGENCY SUPERVISORS’ ORIENTATION

We are happy to welcome the new academic year 2015-2016 with a positive perspective! This brings new beginnings and new hope with many plans and goals to achieve for the good of the students and the whole university. The Social Work Department made its first move in making a difference this first semester where eleven agency supervisors were invited to come and were given orientation on the Internship Program of Social Work students last July 9, 2015 at 2:30pm. The objective of this activity is for the school and the supervisors to level off and align each other’s goals, expectations, define tasks and functions, requirements as well as limitations. More so, the ultimate goal of coming together is to intensify the internship program of the department to meet the demands of the time. The strengthening of the partnership with the supervisors will enhance the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the interns to prepare them to become competent, efficient and effective social workers someday. The activity opened with an invocation and followed by the words of welcome given by CAS Dean Annabee D. Magbanua. It was followed by the presentation of the Vision-Mission of UNO-R and the college by Mr. Celo I. Magallanes, SOBESSOW Dept. Head. The Vision-Mission of the Social Work Department was also discussed by Ms. Richelle H. Verdeprado, Social Work Faculty. The Social Work Internship Program was presented by Ms. Maribel M. Gonzales, Fieldwork Instructor. An open forum was facilitated and the group-freely expressed their questions, clarifications and suggestions which were positively taken. The program ended with a closing remark given by Atty. Ma. Dolores J. Nalumen, one of the social work faculty. (Ms. Richelle Verdeprado with Plinky Garcia)
