Christmas Gift Giving

Last December 20, 2014 the Social Work Society conducted its annual gift giving activity in the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos to give joy to the less fortunate. This year the target benefactors were the children who were victims of fire from Barangay 39. The society chose 20 children and they were given goods that will surely help their respective families. The members and officers of Social Work Society never failed to give delight to the children when they conducted wholesome games. This was very evident by the innocent smiles of the children. After the games the children ate their snacks happily and they were given goods to fulfill their needs temporarily. As the children received their gifts you can really see the joy written all over their faces. Come to think of it, how simple things in life give utmost joys to kids. After all that they have been through, the children are still very happy and positive about life. They are still looking at the bright side of it and never fail to smile and laugh every day. They are all still excited to celebrate Christmas together with their Families. The said activity was a success with the cooperation of all the Social Work Society officers and members namely: Lordielyn Pereyra, Jeremie Dajso, Arra Cecille Villar, Joamille Ceazaree Deligero, Charisma Olimpo, Angel Kate Abaring, Christine Treyes, Rhea Joy Liansing , Almie Alojado, Kimberly Lorenton, Chloe Hofilena, Eroll Auquico, Ara Montino, Apple Joy Postrano, Lyka Pallic, Mae Mosquera, and also the Social Work teachers; Atty. Ma. Dolores Nalumen, Ms. Maribel Gonzales, Ms. Lianie Garcia and Ms. Richelle Verdeprado. Truly Christmas is the time of love, giving and sharing. It’s wonderful to share our blessings and be able to give happiness to the less fortunate. This activity gave us a unique and overflowing joy deep within our hearts. Let’s all remember that Christmas is not only once a year but it happens every day if we will only live its spirit all throughout the year.
