Fray Antonio Carrón, OAR, General Councilor and Head of the General Section for Educational Apostolate, gave a talk on “Guidelines of the Order of Augustinian Recollects on the Protection of Minors.” To Recoletos communities ( Negros cluster) at the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino (UNO-R) at 1:30 PM, February 26, 2019. The talk opened with the welcome address by Fray William Villaflor, OAR, Provincial Councilor, REAP President, and Prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod community. Fray Raul Buhay, OAR gave the rationale of the talk and introduced the speaker.
The talk had three parts. Fray Carron first discussed the role of the General Educational Apostolate, and discussed EDUCAR-RED. He then proceeded in the discussion of the Augustinian Pedagogy and the proposal to train teachers. And lastly presented the OAR General Guidelines for the protection of minors.
During the open forum, Fray Buhay acted as moderator and further explained some points. The talk closed with the Concluding message of the Father Prior General. He said that the Order cannot just work for the protection of minors but we need to collaborate with one another to protect the children entrusted to us and to journey with them. He thanks everyone.

Fray Carrón was born in Madrid in 1980. He made his solemn profession in 2004 in Burgos and was ordained a priest in 2005 in Granada. He graduated with a degree in Pastoral Theology from the Faculty of Theology of Granada. He hold a degree of Master in Contemporary Philosophy and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Granada. Since 2004, he has been a professor, lecturer, mentor and pastoral coordinator of the Santo Tomás de Villanueva School in Granada, where he is also the Director since 2010. He has been a Provincial Councilor of the Province of Santo Tomás de Villanueva and is in charge of the Provincial Secretariat of Educational Apostolate, and also the Delegate of the Augustinian Recollect NGO Haren Alde in Andalusia.
