NYLS or Negrosanon Young Leader’s Summit is a 5 day boot camp organized to address the prevailing social issues and concerns in the province of Negros Occidental. It gathers the finest young leaders of Negros for an intensive Project Development, Capacity Building and Values Formation Workshops. Veniegas, Johnny Jade D., a fourth year BSBA Marketing Management student of University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos bags all the major awards during the 3rd wave of Negrosanon Young Leader’s Summit last January 2-6, 2019 at Haven of Grace Camp and Conference Center. His project “Pag-Asa Creek Initiative” is recognized as the Best Project Concept, Best Project Presentation, Most Innovative Project and NYLS 2019 Best Project against other 25 competing projects that were presented. Veniegas’ passion for the environment and his dream to rehabilitate the Pag-Asa Creek and to live on the vision of his organization, Bacolod CORE was his drive for success. Even in his works in the student government, as a Senate Majority Floor Leader his battle focuses not only in the environment of the university but of the whole Negros as well.
