The Bishop of Bacolod, Most Rev. Patricio Buzon, SDB, DD. led the administrators, faculty, and staff, and students of the university during the Eucharistic celebration last December 5, 2018, to usher in the Advent season and to close the Religious Education Catholic Faith festival. During the Mass, members of the community of Recoletos de Bacolod renewed their religious vows before God and the Church. The members Secular Augustinian Fraternity (SARF) – UNO-R also renewed their commitment and dedication to SARF. The Bishop during his homily focused on the role of the youth today. He reminded them that they are gifted and they have to be careful that these gifts and qualities they have might get exploited by society. He told them that they are too fragile, thus they have to have strong faith in God that they will not get persuaded by the “beautiful” worldly ideologies. They have to know that they are gifted as well as they too are empowered as envisioned by the theme of the “Year of the Youth”, the Bishop added. Fr. President, Rev. Fr. Don H. Besana, OAR; Engr. Noli Ortiz, UNOFELA President; UNORSSGO President accompanied the bishop in the lighting ceremony at the university.
