The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos is celebrating its 64th University Week from September 6-11, 2010 with the theme “UNO-R: one heart, one family- saving mother earth”.
In response of this advocacy, the university will have series of environmental talks today and it is aimed at inculcating awareness among the students. The Office of the property administrator will hold a day-long environmental conference at president’s hall while the high school department will conduct seminar on waste management at HS ACC from 8 until 9 in the morning. A care for mother earth talk for the adopted community of the school will follow in the afternoon.
Also, there will be a clean-up drive along Libertad and Margarita streets spearheaded by the High School Department and the entire UNO-R community.
Mr. Carlos Legaspi, Jr., Public Relations Officer of the university said that UNO-R as a catholic institution adheres to the global call of Pope Benedict XIV to protect and save our environment.
These activities are open to all interested.
