UNO-R SSG sets Waste Exchange Counter

The Supreme Student Government of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos is organizing a Waste Exchange counter project starting this month until March 2011.It is aimed at helping the university on its proper waste disposal campaign and at the same time inculcating the values 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle among the students. The Waste exchange counter is stationed at the SSG office. Wrappers of candies, curls, chocolates and other goods have a corresponding point. When required number of points has already been completed, students may exchange their trash to ballpen, notebook, umbrella and other items the student wishes to have.According to Joselle Lea Geopano, SSG president “this is the simplest way to encourage students to cooperate and help our school on its advocacies. All UNO-Rians are entitled to exchange their trash. We are hoping that the next SSG officers will still continue this endeavor.”

The UNO-R SSG is also set to conduct a gift-giving activity at Gawad-Kalinga compound, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod city on December 19, 2010.
