RITTC DIRECTOR JOINS TESDA INDUSTRY FORUM

The Director of UNO-R Recoletos Industrial and Technological Training Center (RITTC) Dr. Nena P. Samillano attended the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Industry Forum on the establishment of Institutional Arrangements with Industry Board or Industry Associations held on September 23, 2019 at the Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City. According to Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña, the establishment of institutional arrangements with Industrial Boards (IBs) or Industrial Associations (IAs) shall encourage active participation of various concerned in providing relevant technical education and skills development opportunities, being direct participants in and immediate beneficiaries of a trained and skilled workforce. The program started with the usual opening formalities and was followed with the acknowledgement of participants led by Ms. Beverly R. Insular, head of Provincial Operation. Then, Dir. Rolando P. Juanillo, Provincial Director of TESDA NOPO, delivered his welcome message to the participating guests. Moreover, Dr. Gaspar S. Gayona, Ed. D., CESO III, TESDA Regional Director, presented the “Tulong-Trabaho Fund” that shall provide qualified recipients with access to TVET programs under the Selected Training Programs’ (STPs) to be determined by the TESDA Board through the full payment of the STPs training fees, as well as the additional financial assistance such as transportation allowance and laboratory fees, as needed. Also, the selection of IB’s and IA’s took place in the said activity. Among the industry sectors under the TVET program are construction, tourism, agribusiness, wholesale and retail, health and wellness, automotive/ transport, metals & engineering, IT- BPM, and garments.
