Dr. Jasmin L. Parreno, a full-time faculty and Program Head of Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) of the Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School was invited as the Guest Speaker during the 13th Completion Rites and Graduation Ceremony of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Metro Bacolod District Jail-Male Dorm (MBDJ-MD) at Magsaysay St., Bacolod City under the Alternative Learning System last September 15, 2023. The activity is spearheaded by the Jail Warden – JCINSP Ian Karl D Niaga, together with the Dep Ed Division Superintendent of Bacolod City, Dr. Reynaldo G. Gico, Dr. Jose Donnie S. Sajonia, District 6, PSDS & ALS Focal Person, and Dr. Janalyn B. Navarro, Chief, Curriculum Implementation Division. These 28 PDLs are graduates of Elementary and Junior High School. This year’s graduation theme is “Gradweyt ng K to 12: Hinubog ng Matatag na Edukasyon”. This proves that being incarcerated or inside the facility is not a hindrance to succeeding in education and attaining more skills and knowledge, as stretched out by Dr. Parreno in her message to the graduates.
