GOV. LACSON, UNO-R SIGN AGREEMENT FOR SCHOLARSHIP OF BRGY. CAPTAINS

Governor Lacson and Fr. Don H. Besana, OAR seal the partnership between the Province of Negros Occidental and UNO-Recoletos

Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson and University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos president, Rev. Fr. Don H. Besana, OAR. signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the Scholarship for Local Leaders on Barangay Governance, today.

The MOA signing was held at the UNO-R, today, in the presence of Negros Occ. Board Member Juvy Pepello. Negros Occ. Scholarship Program Division head, Karen Dinsay, UNO-R Graduate School Dean, Dr. Dennis Madrigal, UNO-R Director for External Affairs, Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr., UNO-R Vice President for Academic Affairs, Rev. Fr. Jose Alden Alipin, and UNO-R Program Chair, Dr. Merlita Caelian, among others.

The said scholarship aims to boost the managerial and leadership skills of local leaders through the provision of a one-semester – 15 units Certificate on Public Administration and Governance (CPAG).

It is also in collaboration with the Negros Occ. SP-Committee on Barangay Affairs led by Board Member Pepello.

The scholarship will also provide in-depth understanding of the theories and practices in public administration focusing on barangay governance that will build the confidence of local leaders in managing barangay affairs and activities.

Gov. Lacson thanked UNO-R for their cooperation and support, and for providing barangay officials the brand of excellent instruction that UNO-R is known for.
