COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES INKS WITH RADYO VERITAS GLOBAL BACOLOD

The College of Arts & Sciences- Mass Communication Department signed a Memorandum of Agreement with RADYO VERITAS GLOBAL, a local Catholic radio station in Bacolod City Friday, July 26, 2013 at the President’s Hall, UNO-Recoletos. The salient features of the program were-Fr. Abraham Latoza’s opening prayer, Fr. Jorge Peligro’s welcome address, Mrs.Chona Gosiaoco’s Introduction of the Radyo Veritas Global anchors, Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi’s History of the legacy of the Recollect Order in Broadcast Media in the Negros Province, Br. Jaazeal D. Jakosalem’s Rationale of partnership, Fr. Ireneo Gordoncillo’s response, Fr. Cornelio Moral’s exchange of the token of partnership and Fr. Louie Gabinete’s closing remarks followed by a fellowship. Both parties agree on the following terms and conditions: The RADYO VERITAS Global Bacolod shall provide professional and technical assistance to UNO-R Mass Communication students in the production and programming of RADYO REKOLETO shall participate in formation of the UNO-R Mass communication students as responsible media practitioners and shall evaluate the performance of the SECOND PARTY’s students while UNO-Recoletos, College of Arts and Sciences shall provide opportunities and assistance to the Mass Communication interns with the comprehensive media training, shall assist RADYO VERITAS GLOBAL in the implementation of quality radio program, appropriate media technologies and advertising campaigns and shall give the students interns academic grades. The agreement shall be effective for a period of one (1) year from July 26, 2013 to July 26, 2014. The Mass Communication interns will have an hour daily broadcast from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m , Monday into Friday. They will go on-board. The program will feature programs, activities, rituals and ceremonies of UNO-R, human interest topics, interviews and music which are trendy but in touch with morality. Signing in behalf of UNO-Recoletos were Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, VP for Religious Affairs for Rev. Fr. Emeterio Buñao, University President, Rev. Fr. Jorge Peligro, OAR, Vice President for Academics and Dr. Nieves Hibaler-Pepito, Dean College of Arts and Sciences, Signing for RadyoVeritas Global Bacolod were Rev. Fr. Ireneo Gordoncillo, Station Manager and Ms.Chona Villaluna-Gosiaoco, on site intern supervisor. Adding significance to the occasion were the 21 Mass Communication interns, other lay administrators and office heads and the faculty members of CAS who witnessed the signing. Ms. Ma. Judy Legaspi hosted the whole proceedings of the MOA signing.
