Fr. Joel A. Alve, OAR, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and Assistant Dean Mrs. Marian Eusoya attended the APCAS (Association of Philippine Colleges of Arts and Sciences) General Assembly and Conference together with the CAS Department Heads last January 23, 2009 held at the Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo City.
CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles delivered the Words of Welcome while Dr. Christy Laurente, CHED Supervisor for the Arts and Sciences, gave the Statement of Purpose of the assembly. President’s Report, delivered by Dr. Nora Legaspi, followed.
Invited as guest speaker for the assembly was Dr. Minda J. Formacion, Chancellor of UP-Visayas (Miag-ao). Dr. Formacion talked about “Creativity for Educational Transformation” and emphasized the role of students, school administrators, and teachers in the academe. Upon their return home, the CAS administrators shared their experiences with the other members of faculty during their PAASCU General Meeting on January 24. (RMJAvier)
