An alumnus landed second place with a general average of 90.6 percent in the 2013 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination, held recently, in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi. Gerard Paul Ortegue Cusi, 22, was among the 3,168 passers out of 6,584 takers of the test administered by the Board of Civil Engineering. Gerard is a “Magna cum Laude” graduate, a consistent Dean’s lister in college and a Loyalty Awardee of UNO-R. Cusi comes from a family of engineers. He is also an active member of the Youth for Christ organization. Dean Christopher Taclobos of the UNO-R College of Engineering and Cusi’s mentor said he is not surprised that Cusi made it as he is a diligent student. UNO-R’spassing percentage is 78.62 %. The top performing schools in the 2013 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination were University of the Philippines – Diliman – 92.39% followed by UST – 91.79% and Technological University of the Philippines- Manila Campus -83.87%.
