RESOURCE HANDUMANAN FOUNDATION FORGED PARTNERSHIPS WITH UCDO AND ARCORES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHILD SAFEGUARDING POLICY

Bacolod City- RESOURCE Handumanan Foundation, Inc. conducted the Ceremonial Signing of its Child Safeguarding Protocol last December 2, 2023, at the Multi-Purpose Hall in Prk. St. Ezekiel Moreno, Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City. (40) beneficiaries from the community attended the event, including the task group composed of the community and youth leaders in the area. Present at this event were Mr. Alvin Ramoran-OIC Director, UCDO, RESOURCE Staff- Ms. Elinor Mariano, Ms. Debbie Antiquera, and Mr. Aaron Kim Gil, RSW, MSW. Also, the Project Lead of the project, Mr. Airon Paul P. Canizares, RSW, MSSW candidate of the University of the Philippines-Open University, together with the Social Work Interns from UNO-R, Alliah Prudente, Mitzi Pearl Sabay, and Jawn Alexandria Hiponia.

Fr. Samuel Eyas, OAR, President of the foundation, emphasized the importance of safeguarding children’s rights against abuse and exploitation. He said, “This is a testament to RESOURCE’s commitment to ensuring a safe space for our children where their rights are celebrated and protected. The ceremonial signing of our child safeguarding policy is just the beginning of the many works we must do!” The University Community and Development Office of the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos, represented by its OIC-Director, Mr. Alvin Ramoran, RSW, also elicited their support for this cause and committed to providing technical assistance the foundation needs on the implementation of this policy. Let’s continue to nurture communities where every child is valued and loved.
