The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental held a Ceremonial Signing of Proforma-Memorandum of Agreement on the PGNO-Student Internship Program last May 26, 2023, at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol. UNO-R is one of the academic partners of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental (PGNO). The program opened with the opening formalities and the introduction of the academic partners. In his message, the Governor emphasized the importance of partnership to nurture the talents of future professionals. He added that this MOA signing solidifies the province’s vision to enhance growth and innovation. Training young people in the Capitol will help them respect and appreciate government service. He challenged everyone to collaborate, innovate and excel in the Capitol. He also joked with the interns that before he signs their clearances, they must know how to sing the Negros Hymn. The signing of the MOA was done by the Heads of schools or their representatives.
UNO-R Vice President for Academics and Research, Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, Jr., OAR, signed the MOA with Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr. as a witness. After the message of the Governor, each of the academic partners made their responses. Fr. Potencio, Jr. gave the response for UNO-R, where he thanked the Governor for allowing the students to experience what it is to be in work and service. He emphasized that their experiences are their praxis and give them better work opportunities. Atty. Reyfrando Diaz II, Provincial Administrator, gave the closing message by noting that his office had received many requests to hire these interns. Also present with the interns from CABACS is, the Head of the UNO-R Business Education program Mrs. Joanne Saquian.
