UCDO HOLDS MANGROVE GROWING IN CELEBRATION OF UNO-R AT 60

BAKHAWAN PARA SA KALIBUTAN. The University Community Development Office (UCDO) organized a remarkable activity on the university’s 60th anniversary with a mangrove growing last July 2, 2022, Saturday at 6:00 AM, at Purok Can-itom, Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The activity was joined by 60 employees and UCDO volunteers from different academic units and offices to celebrate the 60th anniversary of UNO-R as a Recollect university. The participants were from the College of Arts and Sciences with five Participants, five from the College of Allied, Health and Medical Sciences, eight from the College of Criminal Justice Education, five from the College of Accountancy, Business and Computer Sciences, and four from the College of Engineering, three from the College of Education, four from Integrated school K-10, 11 from Integrated school 11-12, 8 from UCDO juniors club and 6 participants from UCDO staff and interns.

Assembly time at the university was 5:45 in the morning and departed for the venue at 6 am. At the venue,the program opened with a solemn prayer led by Cinderella Delloso. UCDO Director Ms. Maribel Gonzales gave an opening remarks. She expressed her warm gratitude to everyone who volunteered. An orientation on how to plant a mangrove was given by a guide from the community. The mangrove planting lasted for an hour, with 550 mangrove propagules planted. The participants were given snacks after the activity, and everyone headed home. (News and photos from UCDO)
