A member of the Order of Augustinian Recollects joined his joined his master on February 6, 2017. Rev. Fr. Alberto “Bebot” S. Avanzado, OAR was born on May 11, 1958 to Epifanio and the former Catalina Sojerido in Bacong, Negros Oriental. He answered God’s call after his Secondary Education at Holy Family High School in Bacong. He first entered at the San Carlos Junior Seminary in Mabolo, Cebu for his AB Philosophy and English degree. He joined the Order in when he pursued his Theology studies at the Recoletos Formation House, Quezon City. He received his simple profession on May 24, 1986 and officially joined the Order by receiving his solemn profession on June 11, 1989. He was received to the Oder of Deacons on the feast of St. Nicolas of Tolentino on September 10, 1989 and was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on September 9, 1990.
He was assigned to different houses and schools of the OAR after his ordination. His first assignment was as assistant Parish Priest in Our Lady of Consolacion Parish in Quezon City. His other assignments were Valencia, Negros Or (1992); Cebu (1993); Talisay City, Negros Occ (1994-97); Talisay City, Cebu (1997-1998); Antipolo City (1998-2000); Tondo (2000-2002); Sao Paolo, Brazil (2002-2006); Tondo (2006-2009), Manila (2009-2015); UNO-R, Bacolod City (2015-2016); and 2016 until his death in Manila.
In September 9, 2015 he celebrated his 25th year in the priesthood at the Oratory of St. Nicholas de Tolentino at UNO-R, Bacolod City.
