“UPUAN STAGED AT MUSEO REKOLETO DE NEGROS”

A group of Negros artists known as DIHON held exhibits of their artworks at the Museo Rekoleto de Negros. The 5 – man show is tagged as “UPUAN”. This is an art exhibit showcasing the ‘chair or seat” of governance. Most artworks are multimedia arts and express the artist’s expression and interpretation of the upcoming national elections. The upuan or the chair is a symbol of power and responsibility, however, it could also symbolize the greed of politicians for power, money and authority. The centerpiece of the exhibit highlights the big resting chair where reptiles are struggling to take away and grab the seat. The featured artists are Mr. Zardo Saballa, Mr. Ben Valenciano, Mr. Revo Yanson, and Mr. Larry Guillema with Carlos Legaspi,Jr, as a guest artist. The exhibit will run until May 15, 2016, and the Museum is open from 8:30 a.m.– 7:00 pm.
