The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos held the Turn Over Ceremony and Installation of Religious and Lay Administrators for the Academic Year 2009-2010 on June 16, 9:00 AM at the President’s Hall.
The first part of the ceremony was the turnover of responsibilities from the outgoing University President Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, to the incoming University President, Fr. Dionisio C. Cachero, OAR. Fr. Walthrode Conde, OAR, the HRMO Director, gave the rationale of the turnover while Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR read the appointment of Fr. Cachero. Prior Provincial, Fr. Regino Z. Bangcaya, OAR delivered the inspirational message.
New religious administrators were installed at the second part of the ceremony. Fr. Buñao read the confirmation of the appointments of the vice presidents of UNO-R: Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, Vice President for Administration; Fr. Joel A. Alve, OAR, Vice President for Academics; Fr. Eduardo S. Celiz , OAR, Vice President for Finance; Fr Joseph Dexter D. Palagtiosa, OAR, Vice President for Student Welfare; and Fr. Cornelio E. Moral, OAR, Vice President for Religious Affairs. The members of the School Board were formally introduced at the program.
At the final part of the program, the new lay administrators were introduced. Fr. Alve read the appointments of the new administrators: Dr. Juanita Magan, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Mrs. Jasmin Parreño, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education; Dr. Ofelia Posecion, Dean of the College of Education; Mrs. Sunya Phi Sumalde, Principal of the Elementary Department; and Miss Whagie Saranillo, Head Librarian. The complete set of lay administrators was then represented to the audience.
Prior of the House, Fr. Emeterio D. Buñao, OAR, had formally closed the program with his remarks. Installation of the 14th UNO-R President will be after the Mass of the Holy Spirit on June 24, Wednesday. Main celebrant is Prior Provincial, Fr. Regino Z. Bangcaya, OAR.
