Tertiary Lit-Mus 2013 winners bared

Tertiary Literary Musical Contest Part 1 and Part 2 were held September 11 at the University Auditorium and September 12 at the University Gymnasium respectively.The classic interpretation of the movie “One More Try” of the College of Education stood out among the others as they won 1st place in the Movie Theme – Piece Interpretation. The College of Business and Accountancy won 2nd place while the College of Arts and Sciences ended 3rd place. The College of Business and Accountancy’s good humor wowed the judges as they bagged the 1st place in the Comedy Skit. The College of Information Technology and the college of Education were adjudged 2nd and 3rd placers respectively. The College of Engineering showed their technical and acting proficiency as they were awarded 1st place in the Music Video. The College of Information Technology and the College of Business and Accountancy ended runners up. Teacher Georcelle of the College of Education shone the brightest as she won first place in the Ka-Look-Alike. Vice Ganda of the College of Business and Accountancy and Psy of the College of Arts and Sciences won 2nd and 3rd place correspondingly. The College of Information Technology showed the best their college could offer as they were awarded Best in College Teaser. The College of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences bagged the 2nd and the 3rd place respectively. The College of Arts and Sciences’ sweet rendition of mashed-up Bruno Mars’ songs roared the crowd as they won in the Mash-up Acoustic Jam. The College of Engineering ended 2nd place while the College of Business and Accountancy ended 3rd place.

On the other hand, the Lit-Mus Part 2 with the theme “Star Factor | Dance – Voice – Act” was more on the musical aspect with 4 major events. The Vocal Solo, the Group MTV Live, the Vocal Duet and the Pop Dance. Pair number 6 from the College of Business and Accountancy sang their way to the top as they won 1st place in the Vocal Duet. The College of Education and the College of Information Technology won 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The College of Education’s own version of Beyonce Knowles’ and Alicia Keys’ “Put It in a Love Song” music video impressed the judges as they were awarded 1st place in the Group MTV Live. The college of Arts and Sciences’” Baby Boy” and the College of Information Technology’s “Burlesque” won 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Marc Lyndon Nacua of the College of Business and Accountancy let his soulful voice be heard as he won champion in the Vocal Solo Contest. Melody Edwards of the College of Nursing was the 2nd placer while Karl Christopher Webber of the College of Arts and Sciences was the 3rd placer. The College of Business and Accountancy dominated the dance floor as they bagged the 1st place in the Pop Dance Competition. The College of Engineering and the College of Criminal Justice Education ended runners up.

The winners from the different events will be awarded, September 14, during the Closing Ceremonies at the University Amphitheatre. The said activity was organized by the U-Week Executive Committee headed by Rev, Fr. Jorge Peligro, OAR and co-chaired by Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, OAR and the Lit-Mus Committee headed by Mr. Reymund Sabay.
