The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos celebrated the feast of the Soleminityof St. Augustine last August 28. The day started with a Concelebrated Mass led by Rev. Fr. Constantino Real, OAR, Recoletos de Bacolod House Prior while homilist was Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, OAR. Other concelebrating priests were: Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR; Fr. Walthrode Conde, OAR; Fr. Rouel Sia, OAR; and Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR. The Mass was followed by an agape and games at the Main lobby where members of the UNO-R community had parlor games. the Yellow team led by Fr. Emeterio Buñao,OAR emerged as over-all champion. The activity ended with Fr. President thanking everyone who attended the festivities.
Meanwhile, UNO-Recoletos is busy preparing for the University Week 2012 come September 5 – 10, 2012. The theme for this year’s U-Week is “UNO-R: Ayer, Hoy, Siempre.” This is in line with the celebration of the Centennial of Pope St. Pius X’s “Religiosas Familias”, which elevated the Augustinian Recollection to a Religious Order of the Catholic Church.
Aside from the usual activities, the university introduced this year the program for Patients undergoing Dialysis. “Paghalad sang Kabuhi, Kalipayan Katilingbanon” is born. Among the projects are: A u-wide bloodletting will be held on Sept. 7; a fun run tagged as “Recoletos Run for Hope” will be held on the 9th of September and donate for the cause.
