The University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos officially opens its 64th University Week with the theme “UNO-R: One Heart, One Family Saving Mother Earth,” last September 6, 2010 at the school’s 25,000 seating-capacity amphitheater.
This year’s ceremony was led by the University President Reverend Father Dionisio C. Cachero, OAR followed by a short fireworks display.
Dancercise add glamour to the opening celebration of U-week 2010. It featured performances from Pre-Elementary Department, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Information Technology, College of Nursing and College of Arts and Sciences, respectively.
Pre-Elementary department grab the award as the most colorful group, College of Business and Accountancy hailed as the most participative group while College of Arts and Sciences won the best performing group award.
Last year’s U-week theme was “Enkindling the heart, probing the mind and enlivening the spirit”.
