A wizard in our midst!
Despite distractions from the crowd, Mary Grace V. Tambasen, BS Psychology III, blew the minds of her 20 contenders in a Simultaneous Chess Exhibition game on Sept. 7 at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos main lobby.
Tambasen proved her chess prowess by besting 6 among the 20 contenders.
“This is not a too serious game for me. In fact, I feel excited rather than nervous for it is just a game,” she said.
Tambasen, a Sports Scholar of UNO-R, presently handles the following chess titles: (1st runner up) 2007 national Psychology 3; (Champion) 2008 Dizon Memorial Chess; (Female champion) 2008 Shell National Youth-Cebu League; three-time NOPSCEA Champion; second-time national PRISAA Champion; (Champion) UNIGAMES Back-to-Back Philippine University game.
The Simultaneous Chess Exhibition was sponsored by the Sports Office under Sports Office Director Mr. Rios Erikson.
