Seven environmentalists will talk about environmental topics on September 7 and 8, 2010 at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos President’s Hall during the Environmental Stewardship Conference.
On the first day, Rodne Galisha of the Climate Project will talk about Climate Change. Auke Idzenga of AIDFI will talk on Community –based Initiatives for Environment. Organic Farming in Action will be handled by Ahmon Ledesma of Free Grow; Rev. Fr. Many Bolilia,OAR on Campus Recycling while Rev. Fr. Farley Santillan will share on the quarrying, the Alangilan experience.
2nd day of the conference will start with Ecological Initiatives in the Philippines by Voltaire Alvarez of EDNP while the workshop will be handled by Rev. Fr. Charlie Orobia,OAR. Rhoderick Samonte of USLS will talk about Sustainability. Rodne Galicha will return with the anti-mining campaign as the closing talk.
The conference will end with a pledge of commitment and Covenant Signing for the environment. This is organized by Rev. Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem,OAR, founder of the UNO-Recoletos Green Heart Hermitage in cooperation with the UNO-R Campus Organization Federation chaired by Krizel Javellana.
