Ten Korean nationals completed their English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (ESL) under the UNO-R Center for Cultural and Professional Development.

At the Closing Ceremony held last January 26, 2009 at the President’s Hall, University President Fr. Sixto Bitangjol, OAR thanked the Korean students for choosing UNO-R as their place to study English. He likewise expressed hope that more students would come to enroll in the ESL Program. Also during the program, Hyeju Bae, an intermediate student who got a Very Good performance rating, delivered her testimony. She relayed how she was able to survive the learning process and expressed her gratitude to her tutors who patiently taught her how to use the language. The President of AND Academy, Mr. Lee Jong Park, also delivered his message. Certificates of completion were then awarded to the students by Fr. Bitangjol, who was assisted by Mr. Lee Jong Hyun, the Korean coordinator, Mrs. Ma. Judy Legaspi, and Dr. Nena Samillano. To cap the program, the ESL teachers offered a special number and gave gifts to their respective students.
