NOPSSCEA –ACUNO HOLD ASEAN FORUM

The Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) and the Association of Colleges and Universities in Negros Occidental (ACUNO), in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) held an “ASEAN FORUM” at the Sampaguita Hall, Sugarland Hotel August 30. Speakers were: Ms. Ma.Teresa Loring of the Bureau of Export Trade Promotion, DTI on Challenges on the ASEAN Economic Community on Services with the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT); Dr. Mohammed NaimYaakub, Director General of the CPSC, on Emerging trends and state of Higher Education in ASEAN countries: Educational Initiatives towards ASEAN Community 2015; Dr. Numyoot Songthanapitak, President of the Rajamangala University of Technology in Lana, Thailand on ASEAN Education and the Thailand Case; and Director Julius Flores, ASEAN Desk, DFA on ASEAN Socio-cultural Cooperation: Education, Culture, Sports and youth. The forum ended with Dr. Ma. Merceditas Joson, ACUNO President and Dr. Gerion Cabares, NOPSSCEA President, presenting the speakers with the plaque of appreciation. The said forum was attended by Fr. President; Fr. Jorge Peligro,OAR; Dr. Ofelia Posecion; Mr. Carlo Coloso and Dr. Carlos Legaspi, Jr.
