STEP HOLDS TESOL SEMINAR WELCOME PROGRAM

The Special Technological and Educational Programs (STEP) office welcomes its six (6) Korean students for the Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Seminar on July 21, 2019 at room SA 103, UNO-R. This program for the Koreans is in partnership with Jason English Language School (JELS). The TESOL students who came from Dong-A University, Busan, Korea, are Kim Yoonha, Kim Chohui, Park Hyeomhui, Lee Jeongbae, Choi Eunmi, and Hwang Sugeong. The program started with the usual opening formalities and was followed by a welcome message by Rev. Fr. Jose Alden B. Alipin, OAR, Vice President for Academics. Then, Ms. Marah Y. Penkian, School Director of JELS, presented the official students of the said program. Dr. Nena P. Samillano, Director of STEP, introduced the TESOL lecturers to the students. Also, the students had experienced a campus tour led by Mr. Elmeer Meeynard Calimpos, staff. Moreover, an orientation on the essentials of Language Teaching was given by Mrs. Ma. Judy B. Legaspi. TESOL Seminar will provide the students with the skills to teach English to speakers of other languages and opportunities for developing personal expertise in a diverse range of English teaching situations.(Dr. Nena P.
