THE UNO-R SCHOOL OF Law held its 2nd Commencement Exercises last June 26, 2022, at the university Gymnasium. The rites opened with the Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by Fray Cristituto Palomar, OAR with Fray Don H. Besana, OAR.
Imposition of the Hoods proceeded after the Mass. Parents, spouses, or guardians assisted in the imposition of the hoods. This was then followed by the presentation and the Recommendation of the candidates by Dean Dodie Turla. The conferment of the degree, Juris Doctor, was done by the Father President.
Recognition and awarding of Academic honors preceded the distribution of diplomas. Awarded from batch 2020 were Atty. Ma. Tiffany T. Cabigon (valedictorian), Jan Ivan Y. Misagal (salutatorian), Dazyl J. Young (1st Honorable mention), Vanessa Angel C. Uy (2nd Honorable mention), Katryn Dawn U. Ma (3rd Honorable mention). Honor Graduates from Batch 2021 were Yukimari E. Jamelo (Valedictorian), Winnie Ann L. Misagal (Salutatorian), Jay Erwin V. Balabag (1st Honorable mention), Mabelle J. Arellano (2nd Honorable mention), Erika Kristin N. Bugador (3rd Honorable mention). Special Award was given to Atty. Jan Ivan Y. Misagal for exemplary performance in the 2020-2021 Bar Examination. Likewise, the new lawyers from the two batches (2020 and 2021) were also given recognition. They are Atty. Charles Phoebelmer G. Balbin, Atty. Ma Tiffany T. Cabigon, Atty. Chuchie G. Destriza, Atty. Keane Arvin U. Dueno, Atty. Theodora M. Gardose, Atty. Adelaide Joie B. Lim, Atty. Katryn Dawn U. Ma, Atty. Jan Ivan Misagal, Atty. Neil P. Natu-el, Atty. Emlyn A. Palmes, Atty. Emmanuel N. Rebadomia, Atty. Dennis L. Udani, Atty. Vannesa Angel C. Uy, Atty. Jenin S. Villagracia, Atty. Ronald P. Villanueva, Jr. , Atty. Dennis L. Ballesteros, Atty. Jose Warven T. Ilalim, Atty. Wennie Ann D. Lomosad – Misagal, Atty. Roneil D. Quiro, Atty. James Edward B. Viliran.
Atty. Cabigon gave the valedictory address where she narrated her experience and anxieties before the “best-ever Bar examinations in the Philippine”. She also shared how each one hurdled the classes and the reviews they had before passing the bar.
The distribution of diplomas was done by the Fr. President who was assisted by Dean Turla and the University Registrar. There were 50 from Batch 2020 and 41 from Batch 2021. They were then inducted into the Blue and Gold Alumni Association.
UNO-R GIVES TESTIMONIAL DINNER FOR NEW LAWYERS
A Testimonial Dinner for the 2020-2021 Bar passers was held at the President’s Hall last June 26, 2022. The new members of the Bar present were Atty. Frances Hellene G. Abella, Atty. Lydio D. Apawan, Jr., Atty. Keith Anthony G. Balbin, Atty. Charles Phoebelmer G. Balbin, Atty. Dennis L. Udani, Atty. Tiffany T. Cabigon, Atty. Epi Ma. Kassandra A. Dajao, Atty. Sherwin C. Dalisay, Atty. Chuchie G. Distriza, Atty. Keane Arvine U. Dueno, Atty. Theodora m. Gardose, Atty. Racel M. Gregas, Atty. Christine Gabriel Guanzon, Atty. Jose Warven T. Ilalim, Atty. Joselito D. Jaballa, Atty. Villagracia, and Atty. Ronald P. Villanueva, Jr. The Fr. President, in his welcome address, reminded the new lawyers to always put Christ in their profession. He quoted that without Christ, we cannot do anything. The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) – Negros Occidental-Chapter President Atty. Josephine Maria E. Natalaray welcomed the new members of the IBP and invited them to join in the free legal assistance to the underprivileged and other projects undertaken by the IBP. Dean Dodie O. Turla, Dean of the UNO-R School of Law thanked the guests, the administrators and faculty, and the new lawyers for attending the affair.
