MORE THAN A THOUSAND ATTEND “SUG-ALAW REKOLETO”

More or less, one thousand three hundred freshmen students attended the 4th Freshmen Assembly Night tagged as “Sug-alaw Rekoleto” last June 21 -22 at the university Gymnasium. The program started at 3 pm with the registration of participants. At 5:15, the March to the gym and the imposition of crosses commenced. The opening program started with the presentation of participants by their respective Deans, the welcome message of the Fr. President and the introduction of the Religious and lay administrators. It was capped by the beautiful and inspiring message of Bishop Gerardo Alminaza, D.D. The university symbols; Vision, mission and goals ; and the university history were then given to the students. The center of the celebration was the Concelebrated Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral,OAR with homilist, Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR. Rev. Fr. Emeterio Buňao, OAR gave a talk on the “Tatak Rekoleto Spirituality”. After the sharing on the talk of Fr. President, the Taize Rosary was introduced to the freshmen to highlight the recoleto Marian character. At midnight, UNORSSGO officers were introduced to the freshmen where Mr. John Floyd Abrico pledged their unselfish service to the student body. Fr. Gabinete then shared on the characteristics of UNO-Rians through video clips and presentations. At around 3 am, the KDC presented a ramp modelling on the proper use of the school uniform. Green Heart practices and environmental awareness was given by Rev. Bro. jazeal Jakosalem, OAR at 4 am. The DSA gave reinforcements on the talk of Bro. Tagoy and had the participants clean the area. The celebration was recapped by the DSA by giving parallelisms of the activities with the core values of UNO-Rians. The whole celebration ended at 5:30 am after the very energetic dance numbers led by Mr. Fritz Palma and Fr. Moral. This year’s FAN Executive committee is chaired by Rev. Fr. Moral and co-chaired by Fr. Gabinete. The members are: Dr. Carmenda Leonoras; Engr. Christopher Taclobos; Mr. Lino Sumbillo; Ms. Cielo Ganza; Mrs. Cathy Sebastian; Ms. Myrna Baynosa and Carlos Legaspi, Jr.
