The University of Negros Occidental High School Department has welcomed Welcome Home Foundation as primary recipient of its outreach program.

Inspired by vision of the High School Principal and now University President, Rev. Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR to make UNO-Recoletos a Deaf-Friendly University, the teachers of the UNO-R High School Department visited the Welcome Home Foundation last June 26 and made their first step in taking the challenge to be able to communicate with the deaf so as such language can be made part of their teaching ministry.

The interaction was graced by the deaf students of the foundation from different levels, their parents and their teachers with a short talent presentation that showcased not only the gifts of talents of the students but as well the story of hope of students, parents and teachers alike for a world that can also be more generous for the deaf.

The teachers of Welcome Home Foundation also toured the High School Faculty to the different learning areas of the school that have been keeping abreast with advancements of technology so the students may also become competitive in the field of work.

Following the interaction was another step of UNO-Recoletos to help out Welcome Home Foundation in its desire to make students competitive most especially in the age of technology. Spearheaded by University President Fr. Bitangjol, the university donated three computer units and facilitated the repair of the school’s computer units last July 7.
