UNO-R EDUC Students Attend Series of Seminars

The senior students of the College of Education attended a seminar on lesson planning at the AVR – Engineering (the morning venue) and Little Theater (the afternoon venue) last December 6, 2010.   The seminar focused on interactive talk and collaborative activities, which aims to train the future teachers to design effective lesson plans.

Mrs. Antonette Ang, MaEd, a former District V Supervisor of Bacolod City and present principal of West Negros University Integrated School was the Guest speaker.

The program started with an invocation led by Richie Gene Mark Bayona and Jeizl Palermo both BEEd – General students. Rollie Caudillosa Jr. and Michelle Tan, both BSEd – MAPEH students, led the national anthem. The resource speaker was introduced by Mrs. Nemia Tan, Head of Professional Education Department.            The seminar was organized by Ms. Anelia Batinda-an, Student Teaching Supervisor. (Cayzelle Maglantay)

And last November 10, 2010, a seminar-workshop on Grammar Goofs was held and was participated by the graduating students of UNO-R College of Education. The seminar sought to inform students of the common errors of Filipinos involving the English language, its correct usage and to rectify ungrammatical sentences.  Mr. Remus Magbanua, faculty member of the College of Education, was the resource speaker.

On the other hand, the COED graduating students attended a 2-day seminar on Homeroom Management and Group Dynamics conducted by the college in cooperation with the Student Development Placement Center (SDPC) last November 11-12, 2010 Ms. Diwani Duropan , Ms. Roxanne Ibalobor and Mr. June Hablo from the SDPC were the speakers for the seminar.  The 1st day of the seminar was focused on the theories while  2nd day involved the participants to demonstrate their Group Dynamics strategies which were evaluated by the 3 speakers.
