With the aim of strengthening its Faculty Development Program, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) Dean and other faculty members attended and will attend conference and trainings that would be instrumental in the improvement of the quality of instruction delivered to the students of the college.
Dean Jasmin L. Parreño and faculty members, Jean Benedicto and Caryl Vina Jabasa, actively participated in the 19th Professional Criminologist Association of the Philippine (PCAP) Mid-Year Convention and Orientation Seminar on Prison and Penal Forum Administration last July 3-5, 2009 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The theme of the convention was “Re-Tooling Criminology Education and PCAP”.
Dean Parreño will also attend the 20th Annual Conference of Philippine Educators Association for Criminology Education, Inc. (PEACE, Inc.) slated on July 17 and 18 at the University of Baguio, Baguio City. The 20th Annual Conference is anchored on the theme, “The Current Status of Criminal Justice/Criminology in the Country and Beyond”.
Come July 29-31, 2009, Sally Kalalang and Jean Benedicto will represent the CCJE in the National Seminar-Conference sponsored by the Research and Educational Development Training Institute (REDTI) at the Filamer Christian College in Roxas City. The conference will tackle topics on “Building Character and Culture: The Collective Responsibilities and Duties of Individual and Social Institutions” while the seminar and forum will deal with “Nurturing Research Skills and Competence Across Discipline: Achieving Competitiveness in a Fast Changing World”.
