UNO-R LAUNCHES “YEAR OF PASTORAL MINISTRY”

A concelebrated Mass was held at the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino at 7:15 am, September 20 to launch the opening of the “OAR Year of Pastoral Ministry”. The Main Presider and homilist was Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, OAR. He was joined by Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR; Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR; Fr. Rouel Sia, OAR; Fr. Edcel Celiz, OAR; and Fr. Pedro Escanillas, OAR. In his homily, Fr. Moral reminded the faithful of the meaning of revitalization and restructuring, which are part of the theme of the celebration of the Centennial of the Order. He shared that to revitalize means to be vibrant and alive and that our lives should be in consonance with the teachings of the Church and of Christ while to restructure means our way of life. He also likened the school to a Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) or a family where it is in there, where we start to speak about the Lord and to respect one another. He also reminded us of our roles as laity of the Church and as teachers and mentors of students. He said teachers should be concerned of the integral formation of the students that is they should teach their students not only the educational and cultural aspect but also the spiritual. This is why the teachers should teach their students how to pray and the value of interiority. Before the end of the Mass, Fr. Latoza read the decree of the Father Provincial on the celebration of the OAR “Year of Pastoral Ministry”.
